Managing Age Diversity in the Workplace

Demographic changes, the economic environment and better health outcomes have caused more older workers than ever before to remain in the workplace past the age of retirement.  In this episode, “PRSA Diversity Today” explores how this dynamic affects workplace interactions and how employers can make sure to appreciate how age diversity can contribute to a more effective workplace.
Thomas C. Nelson is the chief operating officer for AARP. In addition to overall leadership responsibilities, he supervises the strategic planning and corporate diversity offices and works directly with the executives responsible for membership, operations, research, education and outreach, advocacy, volunteers and AARP’s social mission.
Fred Whiting, APR, is an independent public relations professional who has practiced in the Washington area for more than 30 years. He has been a radio and television news reporter, anchor and assignment editor; congressional press secretary on Capitol Hill and public relations professional for a variety of nonprofit organizations.
