Have you ever considered relocation for your career? Are you intrigued about the possibilities that come with making a big move, but do you also feel that such a huge step is daunting?
Two members of our PRSA New Professionals Section Executive Committee who have relocated within the past year shared their experiences during this free brown bag conference call.
SPEAKERS
Janet Krenn has made three big moves since graduating with an M.S. in journalism in 2005: (1) college to Chicago, (2) Chicago to Boulder, and (3) Boulder to Williamsburg, Va. In the midst of crisscrossing the country, her career has evolved from editing to marketing to public relations. Currently, she works as a Virginia Sea Grant Communicator translating scientific research on coastal waters and the Chesapeake Bay for locals who can apply this information in their activities. Krenn also serves as Communication co-chair for the PRSA New Professionals Section.
Jacob Day recently moved from Springfield, Mo. to Dallas, Texas, where he is now the director of marketing & communication at First Baptist Church. He is responsible for the development, standardization, leadership and management of the church’s internal and external promotion efforts. Day is a 2007 graduate of Missouri State University, Springfield, with a bachelor’s degree in public relations. Day has been active in PRSA for many years, serving as the Southwest Missouri Chapter 2009 Scholarship chair and 2008 Membership chair. Day currently serves as chair-elect for the PRSA New Professionals Section.
