News and Trends for Independent Practitioners

May 20, 2009 by Will Titus

On April 29, 2009, the PRSA Independent Practitioners Alliance offered a complimentary teleseminar to its members. The presentation features Vince Hazleton, Ph.D., APR, Fellow PRSA, of Radford University in Virginia, and Jay Rayburn, Ph.D., APR, Fellow PRSA, of Florida State University, sharing the results of their most recent survey of independent public relations practitioners and their business practices.

The survey answers the most common questions about rates, clients, benefits, etc. The research also provides tremendous insight into success characteristics of independent practitioners.

Additionally, the call features information about:
  • Discounted pricing for IPA members from some of the industry’s most popular vendors.
  • Upcoming programs, including the second annual IPA virtual conference.
  • Updates on member benefits, such as the new “Resource/Document Share” feature of the Web site.
IPA Chair Deborah Long, president of Cohesive Communications in Manhattan, Kan., moderates the call.
